DJ Class // Smash Gordon // Mark Instinct - Tear The Club Up 2099

TEAR THE CLUB UP 2099 - DJ CLASS - SMASH GORDON - MARK INSTINCT by SMASH GORDON - SUBHUMAN

This is commercial dubstep, I mean really, really, commercial. To be honest, I normally wouldn't post up about this kind of stuff, but I have a weakness for Baltimore Club and this is a remake of the "Tear The Club Up". I've heard the original a bunch of times on a Tittsworth mix or somewhere like that. It's booty-shaking roller-skating birthday party anthem. A total club bangin' dance floor killer.

The dubstep refix, is actually not horrible. I hear some Flux Pavillion/ Doctor P type influences, and a basic rave-up approach that's very broadly commercial. There's nothing too heavy or filthy about it and it certainly isn't deep. It's top-end is a bit too crisp for my tastes and a bit much on the chirpy whistle noises. I mean if Funkmaster Flex were to do dubstep, he'd probably do it like this. It kind of reminds me of when Adam F returned back to drum n bass with Breakbeat Kaos after spending years producing hip-hop and all of sudden had this really cleaned up sound. It's certainly better than the G-step shit from Snoop-Dog and Battle Cat. So yeah, I hate to admit it but this tune kinda works. I'll be interested to see what else comes out of Smash Gordon and crew.

Smash Gordon - Smash Your Fucking Face

If you get past the horrible Flash Gordon intro and the ridiculous name of this mix, there's actually some jams on here. Actually didn't know Muffler crossed over to dubstep as well. It starts out pretty hard and noisey, but actually really dig the way he eases into the party rock and house tunes. I'm feeling that section of the mix the most.

Bassnectar- Cozza Frenzy Remix pack review

Bassnectar just dropped the Cozza Frenzy Remix pack, it's ll killer, no filler. If you order through the little shoppe at Bassnectar Labs and you get the exclusive bonus remixes of Cozza Frenzy, Boombox, and West Coast Lo Fi Rides Again by J Boogie, Amp Live, Mexican With Guns, Stylust, and SF’s own Roomate; otherwise it's just re-interpertations of Boombox and Teleport Massive by RJD2, Robot Koch, Son of Kick, DJ Vadim, and Stagga . All versions Boombox and Cozza are straight heaters, but to me, nothing gonna beat the Cozza Frenzy VIP I heard on Excision Shambala 2009 mix, sorry. That tunes just smacks it down, full stop. However there's some really sick mutations on here, well worth checking. I'm fully digging Robot Koch's glitch-hop spin on Teleport Massive, like something you'd hear as the end credit of some retarded show on Adult Swim (and I mean that as I compliment). Amp Live does a sick B-more Club workout on Boombox, that stands out as one of the really only 4 on the floor tune in the pack. For the dubstep heads there's Roommate's hyphy-ized version of Cozza, Noah D's drop bass take on Boombox, Stylust Wooble St. on Cozza, the grinding Teleport Massive Remix Dub and The Churn of the Century by Bassnectar. There's no one that doesn't bring their A-game to this pack; I can honestly say that I would rock any of these on a playlist. Check out the tunes for yourself and see what you think.
