This one woke me up from a deep slumber, War song. Lady gaga cameo attacks... most importantly a rich Zeff visual style and aggy proper riddim. Up front and in your face as usual, Die Antword may be able to save hip-hop electro relevance yet. I'm nut sure if it's honest, but it is pure.

Back after a long holiday break, thought I'd post up this lovely little typographic movie-card-title inspired video by Travis Hopkins for Buck 65. I got this one from my favorite comics blog Bleeding Cool, surprisingly enough. As Travis says in his interview on Art of The Title,:

With “Superstars Don’t Love,” I wanted to show that kinetic type animation could be more about design than just your average “see and say."

. While the beats are minimal and the rhymes flow in a easy midwest nerd-core style, I think title design style of the video really pulls it all together and puts a bow on this tune. Otherwise I would have probably just breezed past it to be honest. I get it. It's lyrically nostalgic, musically forward yet stripped-down, and visually a vintage remix. Works for me.

Buggsy's 'Connect The SPDIF' Featuring U.K legends Jehst & Farma G

Bit of a odd mellow yellow weed smoking tune. Its mostly a mid-paced bong-ripper until the Buggsy get's hyper at the end, kind of killing the lifted vibe. The video is weird little tea party at someone's crappy apartment. All around a bit of a wacky tune, but I really dig the groove and it's freakin' Monday, so who needs to be all upfront on a Monday, really. Sometimes you got to take it down a notch, and this one does the trick.

Iggy Azalea - PU$$Y Official video

Got this one from my buddy Marco at work, " Oh lord, so we get a new Kreayshawn about once a month now? #disturbing trends". While I somewhat agree, I do think the beats are actually pretty slick. It's a club roller influenced by dubstep and garage, but decidedly hip-hop. And the video, my lord, this thing is visually arresting. I love it and I hate it. I want to punch the D.O.P. in his face and then shake his hand for knocking my socks off. Just look at that kid riding around on that toy mechanical horse, and see if you are not immediately repulsed and sickened. And that close-up of the girl with braces licking her lips.... ugh. Narsty. Bassnectar Labs - 2010 IDJ MIXTAPE

Fist off this morning got a hot soundclash, shifted beats mix from Bassnectar labs. It's got just about everything you can want from electronic music past, present, and future mixed, mashed and mangled to the nines. "We tore our favorite drum & bass to shreds, injected hip hop with some pogo-stick bass, amped up the tempo of dubstep, freaked out the gypsies, gave a nod to the dreamy 80’s and ended up similar to where we started off: omni-tempo maximalism strikes again." I've heard some similar mixes and mash-ups from guys like Craze, 12th Planet, Tittsworth, Girl Talk and so on... this seems more focused on the break beat, chopped beat side... less of a glitchy mess, more of a re-worked integration that flows well and just makes sense. Definitely got my attention by throwing a Pixies song in the mix. Enough blab, here it is:
